Thankful for some snowy quiet to devote to novel 1 Thankful for some snowy quiet to devote to novel 16. I chuckled at the candle I found as it suits this tobacco trade novel to a T! 🕯️ #tobaccovanilla
The Book Belle, indeed💛 Thank you! Posted @wit The Book Belle, indeed💛 Thank you!
Posted @withregram • @the.book.belle Do you have favorite book covers? What are your "The cover made me read it" books?
Though I got an ARC of this book, I would have picked this one off the shelves just because of the cover! Gorgeous! 😍
The Rose and the Thistle is a historical romance set in early 1700s England and Scotland where religious tensions are high and the Jacobites are seeking rebellion. Due to her father's Jacobite sympathies, Lady Blythe Hedley's home is attacked forcing her to flee to the home of her Godparents in Scotland. The new Lord Wedderburn reluctantly takes her in despite being on the opposing side.
This is a sweet story that fully immerses you in the history of this time. @laurafrantzauthor is fantastic in her historical detail. I love how she created such a bookish, witty FMC who is eager to learn despite people's differences. Blythe and her books and spectacles ...love it.
Everard is strong man with a caring heart and a generous soul. The slow burn romance between them is sweet and tender. I love their Scottish and English language banter.
I enjoyed the side characters in this story as well. Seeing a maid fall in love, relationships with father and daughter, brother and brother. Odin is adorable.
For those who love sweet christian romance packed full of history, this book is for you. This book released this month!
Thank you to the author and @revellbooks for the early copy. All thoughts and words are my own.

Do you have an author who is at home with you in t Do you have an author who is at home with you in that you own every one of her books?
I’m always amazed by the rarity of that! Many people read an occasional book by an author or a few of them but not many invest wholeheartedly in an entire collection, especially displayed as beautifully as these here by @readingismyjoy. 💛 It’s such an honor to see.
I feel this way about Elizabeth Goudge, George McDonald, & Liz Curtis Higgs. Authors who feel like ‘coming home’ to me. Hard to explain. For once I’m wordless! But thankful.
