Happy Labor Day weekend! Happy release month, too!
Much is happening now that September officially begins…
What’s In:
This weekend I turned Ballantyne book 3 into my publisher for release September 2014. I must say I loved my time in 1850-51 very much and am already missing Rowena Ballantyne and her two – yes, two! – heroes. I wonder which you’ll choose?! You’ll meet her in the back of Love’s Awakening in a sneak peak installment…
What’s Up:
GOODREADS is having a 5 book giveaway of Love’s Awakening from September 1-15
Love’s Reckoning is on sale for e-readers September 1-3 at these links:
Apple, Amazon, Barnes&Noble,CBD
Love’s Reckoning will also be in hardback and large print soon per Amazon.
What’s Next:
Throughout this month there will be plenty of posts about writing Love’s Awakening, special giveaways/interviews, and more. I’ll also leave comments open if anyone wants to reply or ask questions…
If you’d like to take a look at the inspiration behind the story please follow the link to my Pinterest board.
Since the official release day for the novel is September 15th, I’ll be having a special giveaway for those who haven’t read the book and for those of you who have.
Thanks so much for joining me!
A special giveaway? Does that include lunch with Gerard Butler? I distinctly remember thinking this was a good idea and since I think you could totally swing asking him, why don’t we just go ahead and tell people you’re offering lunch with Silas? In…Rome.
And what’s lunch with Silas if we can’t let Red Shirt join us?
Huh? Am I right? I am totally right.
Hopefully it’ll be a really warm day and there’ll be no need for heavy wool shirts.
What?
Oh, and can we limit this contest to Canadians who write about the Navajo, specifically in the post Civil War ear in what was then the Arizona Territory and who know exactly King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella said in the little known Doctrine of Discovery read by Columbus’s men in 1493?
See, problem solved. I see HUGE numbers for this contest, Laura, H-U-G-E!
Congratulations of the release!!!!
I stopped in at our local Christian bookstore yesterday and STRONGLY suggested they carry books written by the fabulous author…Laura Frantz.
LOL, Jennifer – of, one of my regrets of the year is NOT being able to meet you at ACFW!! I’m holding out for next year…but then you might not make it then!
Oh, how I wish I could book lunch with GB and RS and one of those memorable heroes in…Rome. YES! We would have a picnic at the Parthenon – or is that in Greece?!
THANKS HUGELY for putting a word in about my books. With shrinking shelf space I am very thankful for any “word of mouth” I get :). And very blessed to have your help!!
Thinking of you as you prepare and pack. Can’t wait to hear more…!
Can’t wait to read Ellie’s story. I am now looking forward to the sneak of Rowena at the back of Love’s Awakening.
Carissa, You may already know this but Rowena is from Kentucky :). I can’t help but think of you when I’m writing! But I want you to meet Ellie first, lol. Guess we don’t have much choice about that! I do hope/pray you like her very much. Prayers with you as you start your busy schedule up again.
Good Moring Laura! I hope you are having a nice holiday weekend with your family. I wanted to let you know that your post the other day and the heartfelt request for prayer brought tears to my eyes. Of course, you have my prayers!!
Also, thank you for taking us behind the scenes, getting a better glimpse of Ellie and the book setting. I just love seeing all of this, but I am just SO Pinterest challenged! Very frustrating. I am afraid I have missed so much. I think I need lessons but haven’t seen them offered, LOL. Anyway, I am trying.
Now….Ellie has been staring at me for a fews days, but
I am restraining myself. 🙂 And then we have to wait a year for Rowena’s story. Takes a long time to write, edit and publish a book, doesn’t it? A lot of blood, sweat and tears goes into these stories and I think we the readers should try to appreciate every word, instead of just rushing through these stories.
I’m sorry for this run-on post, perhaps I’ve had to much coffee this morning, LOL. But just want you to know, I appreciate all your hard work, dear lady, as I know you put your heart and soul into these stories and are giving God all the glory. Have a blessed day!
Georgianne, Oh, I was just thinking of you this morning – yesterday too!! I am so glad you are just anticipating the book. I do, that, too with books I’ve waited for a long time as I really believe anticipation is half the enchantment! I love leaving an unread book lying around simply so I can look at it. Another of my readers emailed and said she carried the book around with her the day she got it in the mail :). She hasn’t cracked it open yet but wants to savor it. Love that.
I so understand about mastering Pinterest. When an artist friend sent me an invite to join last year I put it off for quite awhile as I am not at all good at these type things. I basically learned Pinterest by trial and error. And now I’ll admit it is by far my favorite online place. But I still struggle with it at times. I’ve found the online Pinterest HELP site quite helpful! And if I have a question they usually email me pretty quickly to try to help. If I lived closer I would be so happy to help you! Your name popped up this morning over there and I think I am already following you but when I clicked on your name to check I couldn’t get there. Pinterest often has hiccups!
And thanks so much for your kind thoughts and prayers. They mean so much and I really believe the Lord opens more doors by prayer than we dream of. It’s wonderful to have you and other reading friends joining in with me! I couldn’t do it without you.
Hope you have a good, restful Labor Day, too. Our boys start back to school tomorrow – sigh. Today the grandparents are coming for a big taco feast :).
I am thrilled for you, Laura! I am sure you are waiting on pins and needles for the official release day. What a way to usher in the release of this book than to turn the next book in to the publishers. Two heroes you say? I am already intrigued! I am looking forward to the title reveal, cover reveal, and all the other fun stuff to wet our appetites for book three!
I hope you have a blessed Labor Day! I went down to my sister’s house for a few days. We played lots of board games and ate donuts! It was a lot of fun. I also got to spend time with my adorable niece, which is always a bonus of visiting her. I am going to spend today cleaning my carpets. I sure know how to spend my holidays in style! 🙂
Looking forward to reading Love’s Awakening. I really enjoyed the first book. Headed today to nearby Barnes & Noble and will ask for it. A friend recently gave me her dining table that seats 12. Yesterday I had 12 single gals for lunch after church. It was touching to “hear” their hearts and how they miss/and or long for the security of having a husband to handle things. Yet the conclusion was The Lord is who we must know is able to handle whatever He allows in our lives. I do appreciate Christian novels when they convey that truth. Thanks you Laura for writing novels that can encourage women to trust. Now I have decided to leave all 3 extra leaves in the table so I can sort “Elsie” notes. Over 100 years ago when my grandmother was writing she wrote on every little scrap of paper that came her way. I can’t imagine how the process must be different for writing a novel. I am sorting through 20 pounds of remembrances/notes Elsie left behind and working on creating a memoir that tells of her years during WW 1 of living on an apple ranch on the mountain. I plan to post a FB pic today of the papers spread out on that long table. Trust I can keep the cat off the fragile notes.
I love using pinterest as a marketing tool for my first Elsie book. It has been fun collecting over 3,600 vintage pics of readers and quotes about reading. I do enjoy your blog and reading about your progress.
Barbara, You have such a treasure trove of Elsie inspiration – I love the cover of your first book so much! And I’m thrilled you’re working on a memoir. I’ve heard they are poplar right now so the timing seems right. I’ll have to see if I spy your picture when you post it. Your dining table set is sure being put to good use with the gift of hospitality. You’re so right about trusting the Lord for the things He allows in our lives even when it’s not what we would like. I’m learning that myself.
Like you, I love Pinterest and find it a wonderful reward for a day’s work. Thank you for wanting to read Ellie’s story. That blesses me more than you know.
Congratulations, Laura, on your upcoming release! I’m sure it’ll be another great one!! I can’t wait!
I hope you are enjoying your Labor Day weekend.
Amy, So good to spend a bit of Labor Day with you :). We’re having a low key day. I cleaned out my office and later today we’re having company for a big taco dinner. I hope your day is a happy one there!
