Rolled into St. Lou about ten o’clock Saturday night and enjoyed a steamy 97 degrees…
One of the best things about these book events is dressing up and being girly…!
Right across the street was the conference center where the International Christian Retail Show was held…
Meals and desserts are always such a treat…and Starbucks was right in the lobby…
The best part of book venues is being with friends new and old. Julie Klassen, fellow author at Books & Such Literary, is just as lovely as her books…
The Statler ballroom where the Christy Awards took place…
Dressed up and a wee bit excited…
What a joy spending time with Joanne Bischof. She is an incredible writer and friend. I urge you to visit her beautiful site and read her novels. Her husband and real-life hero is also a gem!
The awards ceremony was thoughtful and well done. As each finalist was called to the stage and given this medallion, one of the Christy judge’s comments was read, making it a very unique, memorable moment for authors.
In the case of Love’s Reckoning, the comment chosen was, “This was one of the strongest books I read in the past year – Christian or otherwise – laced with faith yet never sacrificing passion or thoughtfulness.”
So thankful for Christy judges and such gracious words. The list of winners is at the Christy site. Congratulations to all!
When I arrived at the Baker book signing, boxes of Love’s Awakening (advanced reader copies) and bookmarks greeted me…
Clowning around before the signing…can you tell I’m having a great time?!
Fun to spend some time with Christy winners Susan May Warren, Kristen Heitzman, and the irrepressible Julie Lessman!
Home again and anxious to get back to work. Love’s Awakening is just around the corner!
Did you follow along with the Christy live blog? Have any questions about the event? Ever been to St. Louis?
Good to see you again here!
