Exquisite history, yes!
While it’s lovely, I would have felt like a puffball wearing that many ribbons and ruffles. I’m a girl ready for an apocalypse, an alien attack, or any kind of event that would close grocery stores and restaurants, so I wear VERY FEW ruffles.
6 months on a desert island eating nothing but palm fronds would be…fine.
Although, I can almost hear that dress swish and swoosh as it moves.
Your comments remind me of dear Rowena “Wren” Ballantyne coming up who has an absolute mortification of ruffles which were THE BOMB in 1850 fashion, lol. This ensemble here is very girly and even for me, being girly, it’s a bit much! I love the accessories so much and of course want to touch everything! I should have been a curator at a museum. Sigh…
The dresses are so pretty! U think who ever u pic for the person for our new book should were the dress what do you think!? Lol
I think it’s a pretty Christmas dress
Danie, Welcome here! Love your idea of this as a Christmas dress. YES! I would love a book cover in this dress though my next heroine hates ruffles, lol ;). Personally, I’d be happy to own this dress in a heartbeat – only I couldn’t fit into it!
So feminine! A bit much for me, too, but look at all the work that went into that ensemble! Must have made a very pretty bride one day long ago.
Carla, Yes, so much work went into this dress! I always want to know the rest of the story like who the seamstress was, the bride and groom’s ages and backstory. Maybe you do, too!?
