Happy reading!
I’m sorry, did somebody say something?
I wasn’t listening. I was umm, appreciating the genetically superior example provided by whoever took this picture, and this guys parents.
*guy’s
I just misspelled over on Rel’s blog so you can blame me…must be catching!
What a wonderful roundabout way of giving credit to JACK :)! You are so right – pretty incredible genetic engineering, if you ask me. Can’t blame Ellie for being smitten, I guess…!
Oh….there’s that handsome hunk again!!! 🙂
Hope you had a nice day yesterday!
Thanks to you, Georgianne, I know who the REAL Jack Turlock is :). But even better, I’m sure you’ll form your own image of him in your mind as you read and it will probably be nothing like the image posted! I just heard that within a few pages of a book our minds began to unreel like a movie and we “see” everything as we’re reading. I think that’s very true. That’s certainly true of the way I write. Instead of creating scenes I often just follow them as if I’m watching a film and then write them down. A very intriguing process! And a blessed escape!
We did have a great taco feast and a little sunshine, too, yesterday. This morning it’s pouring rain and our boys started back to school. OH MY! The house is quiet. Hope your Labor Day was restful and this is a good week for you!
You sure know how to make a person excited to read your book, Laura! I am excited to meet your first un-heroic hero! Some of my favorite literary characters had a rough start and were anything but that godly, swoon worthy gentlemen we all love. I know I sound like a broken record here, but I am really excited to get my hands on a copy and read it! Wishing you a lovely week!
Emma, So glad you are ready to read and meet that Jack:) Rel’s spotlights are always fun and provide a little tease about what’s to come. Thank you for reading! I had a lot of fun with Jack since my other heroes are mostly heroic, godly men. Red Shirt was never a true reprobate like Jack and Colonel McLinn was an honorable man despite his lack of faith/doubts. I am curious to know what you think of JT ;). You should see that book very soon!
can’t wait to meet Jack however I think that Silas will always be my favorite hero.
Carissa, I can’t tell you how much it means to hear Silas holds a special place in your heart. I can honestly say he might be my favorite hero, too. At least of my books. He is a very interesting foil to Jack in Love’s Awakening. My hubby, Randy, finished the book last month and said he thought it very interesting the way Silas handled Jack. A godly man vs. an ungodly man.
Thanks for your wonderful comments. You always make my day!
Great character shot! I’m headed over… 🙂
Gwen, So glad you like the manly Jack :). I hope he’s just as lively on the page! Thanks for the visit and following the link…!
Oh, this sounds like such a wonderful story! I love the Underground Railroad element, as well as the sound of the characters. Now I can hardly wait to read it–thanks for sharing this sneak peek, Laura!
Praying for you as this book comes out…may the Lord’s hand of love and peace and covering be over both you and this story for His purposes. Bless you!
Oh Kiersti, Love your praying heart! Thanks so much for stopping here and saying such gracious things. I’m really glad the Underground Railroad appeals to you. It’s such a fascinating theme. I hadn’t meant to include that originally but it worked well with the Ballantyne’s history and heart for others.
I hope your summer was a good one and your start to fall even better. Again, so happy to see you here!
