In reply to <a href="https://laurafrantz.net/the-timewarp-wife/#comment-10593">Cindy Matthews</a>.

You sum up this season or summer of change so beautifully! It amazes me that God, who is changeless, has his created beings/humans, in a cycle of perpetual change! And I also stomp my feet and hate it oftentimes, like you. But as you also wisely noted, change grows us and maybe that is why we never rest from it. I hope you are moving in and savoring the little details you love. I'm trying to look past the mess to the beauty emerging in this remodel of removing 25 years of crayon marks and boy paw prints ;)

And I hear you about being careful about books, especially Bible studies. So dislike the unfinished books in my stack! I will certainly let you know once I've completed these. I will say that I like the 2 I'm working on so much that I ordered 2 more of hers yesterday :) So that's a good sign, at least. But what works for one doesn't for another. I've been in studies written by popular Bible study leaders that leave friends cold. Argh. Plus being busy, moving, resettling, leaves little time for reflection though sometimes that's when we need it most.

Love catching up with you this way, dear friend. Hugs and love to you! And prayers!

Thanks for the recommendation. I get so weary of searching and never buying because I'm just not sure. I've bought several from a particularly popular women's Bible study author. And while they are good, they are not a good match for me. Yet I keep buying them. And they sit unfinished. Then I will get them out to finish at some point and then shelve them again! It's a sad and frustrating cycle.
I try really hard to stay away from what is trending. Yes, even trending Bible studies.
Would you mind giving a review of sorts in a few months? I really need my money spent to count and not get shelved again.
Your summer sounds hard with all that change. I've found that God grows us during change. I hate it and stomp my feet the whole time. Maybe in a few months I will see some progress in myself from my own summer of change.
Love to you!
