Theres’s nothing like a little encouragement on the publishing path, or in this case, tremendous encouragement! The Christy Award is an unparalleled honor in the industry & to me personally. Inspired by Catherine Marshall’s novel by the same name, this literary recognition of excellent fiction has several categories. I’m thrilled & thankful my publisher, Revell, thought enough of The Rose and theThistle to enter it. I’m amazed judges chose it as the winner. Since I believe writing is a gift, all the praise is for the gift giver, God. It’s a lovely, profound thought to be a “paper missionary” as Janette Oke said during the awards gala to refer to those who are writing for Christ – truly, the highest pleasure & privilege!
