<p><em>In 1777, caught in the crossroads of the American Revolution, sisters Maebel and Coralie Bohannon&#8217;s quaint New Jersey village becomes a battleground as they house American officers. Rebellion ripples through their family as members take opposing sides—Patriots and Loyalists—causing a deep chasm that fractures their once-unbreakable bond.</em></p>
<p><em>As Mae&#8217;s friendship grows with the American general Rhys Harlow, Coralie continues her liaison with her childhood sweetheart, a British officer stationed in New York. Mae, torn between her deepening love for the general and suspicion that her sister is a British spy, leaves the only home she&#8217;s ever known for the New York frontier. When betrayal strikes in the heart of the wilderness, she&#8217;s forced to take a perilous journey that tests her very survival and those she loves, all in the name of liberty.</em></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">It&#8217;s been said you can&#8217;t judge a book by its cover &amp; that&#8217;s so true! A great cover opens the door to an entire universe or story world. The cover is a promise. A silent salesman. The right cover finds the right reader. A cover is the window into the soul of a story. I&#8217;ve heard them all! And out of my almost 20 published novels, I&#8217;ve had some cover hits &amp; some cover misses. Here&#8217;s a look at cover art for my latest release, <em><strong>The Belle of Chatham. </strong></em></p>
<p><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-33318 size-large" src="https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4073-1024x620.jpg" alt="" width="742" height="449" srcset="https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4073-1024x620.jpg 1024w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4073-300x182.jpg 300w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4073-768x465.jpg 768w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4073-1536x930.jpg 1536w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4073-800x485.jpg 800w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4073-660x400.jpg 660w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4073-100x61.jpg 100w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4073-862x522.jpg 862w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4073-1200x727.jpg 1200w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4073.jpg 1560w" sizes="(max-width: 742px) 100vw, 742px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Publishing is especially thrilling when your novel gets a face. In this case, 3 of them! Revell&#8217;s art director sent me these comps to choose from. Easy, right? Not when you like ALL of them for different reasons! #1 pops with floral trim &amp; a landscape &amp; period-appropriate dress. Cover 2 has a to-die-for flag &amp; balcony even if the heroine isn&#8217;t dressed for 18th-century success. And #3 is a win because of the hair &amp; gown &amp; jewelry though I&#8217;m not a fan of that wood wall behind her. Plus, our heroine&#8217;s hair is blonde &amp; this belle&#8217;s is dark. Still, I had to choose so&#8230;</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-33324" src="https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4040-661x1024.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="775" srcset="https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4040-661x1024.jpg 661w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4040-194x300.jpg 194w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4040-768x1190.jpg 768w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4040-992x1536.jpg 992w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4040-516x800.jpg 516w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4040-258x400.jpg 258w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4040-100x155.jpg 100w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4040-862x1335.jpg 862w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4040-1200x1859.jpg 1200w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4040.jpg 1315w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong>Voila</strong></em>! Once again, there were elements that I like but hoped to change. Since one of my former novel&#8217;s, <strong><em>A Heart Adrift,</em></strong><em> </em>had a square frame around it, I decided to go with the scrap of paper &amp; asked if more of the flag could be shown. Also, her hair needed lightening though to be honest, the dark hair is more striking&#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-33323 size-large" src="https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4072-1024x793.jpg" alt="" width="742" height="575" srcset="https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4072-1024x793.jpg 1024w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4072-300x232.jpg 300w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4072-768x595.jpg 768w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4072-1536x1190.jpg 1536w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4072-800x620.jpg 800w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4072-516x400.jpg 516w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4072-100x77.jpg 100w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4072-862x668.jpg 862w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4072-1200x930.jpg 1200w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4072.jpg 1545w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 742px) 100vw, 742px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">So, now that we&#8217;ve narrowed it down to a single design, we still have to work out the placement of the title &amp; author name&#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-33325" src="https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4089-191x300.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="785" srcset="https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4089-191x300.jpg 191w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4089-652x1024.jpg 652w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4089-510x800.jpg 510w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4089-255x400.jpg 255w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4089-100x157.jpg 100w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/IMG_4089.jpg 676w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">After a bit of back &amp; forth, this final design was landed on. I love it, thanks to Revell&#8217;s art team &amp; the very gifted designer, Laura Klynstra. She&#8217;s done my covers since <strong><em>A Heart Adrift </em></strong>which is one of my favorites along with <em><strong>The Rose &amp; the Thistle</strong> &amp;<strong> The Indigo Heiress. </strong></em></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><em><strong>Cover love is a splendid thing!</strong></em></p>

<p style="text-align: center;">March is nearly here along with a spring forward adjustment to the clock which steals an hour of reading away! I&#8217;m dreaming of planting a little colonial garden but it&#8217;s too soon here in the Pacific Northwest. We&#8217;ve experienced one of the mildest winters on record. Rhododendron bushes were actually blooming in December! I missed our usual, beautiful snow, since we got a scant half inch this winter. But you need only look up from our foothills to see the Olympic Mountains dressed in white.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">I made sure to put a snowstorm in my Christmas novella I told you about last post. I&#8217;m finishing the first draft now &amp; adding historic quotes at the beginning of each chapter. To say I&#8217;m smitten with this story is truly an understatement. It highlights history at one of my favorite historic sites in the most festive way. But for now, back to spring &amp; dreaming of new story ideas. If you have something in mind you&#8217;d like for me to write in future please let me know!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">And please return to to this journal page for a title reveal soon for my next full-length historical romance with Revell releasing in January 2027! Cover reveal coming after that&#8230;</p>

Here&#8217;s a wee look at the itinerary if you&#8217;d like to follow along. I&#8217;ll be posting pics on my <a href="https://www.facebook.com/LauraFrantzAuthor/">author Facebook page</a> as well as our private group, <em><strong>Gorgeous Georgians</strong></em>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/laurafrantzauthor/">Instagram</a>, etc. It&#8217;s wonderful to be London bound this month!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">We&#8217;re hoping to host another Scotland tour in 2026. We&#8217;d love to have you join us!</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">Spring has sprung &amp; Easter is early this year. I&#8217;ve just returned from traveling down south, my forever home &amp; happy place. I&#8217;m about to become a Gigi x2 any day now. Here&#8217;s a recent pic of my lil namesake, Sophie Louise, on the left with her bookish bestie on the right. Never too young to love books &#8211; or too old either! After a looonng winter, it&#8217;s wonderful to see things blooming. On my recent trip to visit my dear mom, I was blessed to cross middle Tennessee with the redbuds in bloom. A bit too early for dogwood, my personal favorite, but such a joy to see that burst of color. Redbud winter, actually, as the temps were so cold. But it was wonderful to feast at Cracker Barrel again, experience Buc-ee&#8217;s for the first time, &amp; a hundred other delightful &amp; challenging things.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Now that I&#8217;m home &amp; back to work, I have much happening on the bookish front. My first novella is rolling out this summer. I&#8217;ve recently seen the cover &amp; it&#8217;s a dream! I&#8217;m about to get galleys for my next full-length novel, another Scottish tale. I&#8217;ll be sharing the title &amp; cover for both novella &amp; novel in my newsletter soon. I&#8217;ve also been pondering my next novella &amp; am at 38k on the Revolutionary War tale releasing in 2026.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">For now, wishing you a wonderful start to spring!</p>
