<p style="text-align: center;">Per <a href="https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/158876">The Met</a>, &#8220;The extraordinary embroidery of this cape shows the delight of the British in the age-old tradition of representing nature in embroidery. The whimsy and pleasure expressed in the embroidery is evident.&#8221; I especially love the beribboned straw hat!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-32386" src="https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/AD4016F5-EEEF-426D-A454-0E07FF6EF866-183x300.jpeg" alt="" width="400" height="658" srcset="https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/AD4016F5-EEEF-426D-A454-0E07FF6EF866-183x300.jpeg 183w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/AD4016F5-EEEF-426D-A454-0E07FF6EF866-623x1024.jpeg 623w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/AD4016F5-EEEF-426D-A454-0E07FF6EF866-487x800.jpeg 487w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/AD4016F5-EEEF-426D-A454-0E07FF6EF866-243x400.jpeg 243w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/AD4016F5-EEEF-426D-A454-0E07FF6EF866-100x164.jpeg 100w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/AD4016F5-EEEF-426D-A454-0E07FF6EF866.jpeg 730w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">In this third Scottish novel I&#8217;m writing I have toddler twins. My heroine meets them &amp; is wearing this cape. Her heart for children leads her to choose something she knows will appeal to them. The nursery scene is one of the favorites that I&#8217;ve ever written. Children add so much to a story.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-32384" src="https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/F2194A36-7DC4-46F9-A1A1-5929AEA5A2B4-161x300.jpeg" alt="" width="400" height="744" srcset="https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/F2194A36-7DC4-46F9-A1A1-5929AEA5A2B4-161x300.jpeg 161w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/F2194A36-7DC4-46F9-A1A1-5929AEA5A2B4-550x1024.jpeg 550w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/F2194A36-7DC4-46F9-A1A1-5929AEA5A2B4-430x800.jpeg 430w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/F2194A36-7DC4-46F9-A1A1-5929AEA5A2B4-215x400.jpeg 215w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/F2194A36-7DC4-46F9-A1A1-5929AEA5A2B4-100x186.jpeg 100w, https://laurafrantz.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/F2194A36-7DC4-46F9-A1A1-5929AEA5A2B4.jpeg 645w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">For those patiently waiting, this third Scottish novel will release January 2025. There&#8217;s another novel coming out before then in January 2024. I promise I&#8217;m writing as fast as I can. It&#8217;s research that takes time. And I try to get it right. I love the working title of this novel though I&#8217;m not going to share it since it gives too much away. I&#8217;ve just reached the midpoint in writing so the novel is half finished. And <em><strong>wheest</strong></em>, I do love it!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Here&#8217;s hoping you love it, too!</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">There are so many periods of dress that shine and the Edwardian era is at the forefront. This lovely wedding ensemble from the House of Paquin is crafted from silk, cotton, and beads. <em>Downton Abby</em> fans rejoice! This creation is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and was gifted to them by a private donor in 1969.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">I especially like the lily of the valley embellishments as the flower means &#8216;return to happiness&#8217; and symbolizes chastity, purity, and humility. So bridal!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Happy Fashion Friday!</p>
