There are so many periods of dress that shine and the Edwardian era is at the forefront. This lovely wedding ensemble from the House of Paquin is crafted from silk, cotton, and beads. Downton Abby fans rejoice! This creation is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and was gifted to them by a private donor in 1969.
I especially like the lily of the valley embellishments as the flower means ‘return to happiness’ and symbolizes chastity, purity, and humility. So bridal!
Happy Fashion Friday!
Stunning. And the craftsmanship. Cannot imagine how long that would take to fashion. Or to make the lace! think I’ll call Liberty and find out about that. 🙂 Thanks, Laura, for always offering an outpost of loveliness and peace in cyberspace!
