In reply to <a href="https://laurafrantz.net/out-on-a-ramble/#comment-17130">Linda Manning</a>.

Dear Linda, Thank you for stopping by here and also for visiting my home state! We've had a wild weather year with so much rain. Sometimes I think Seattle moved south :) I understand the issues and desire or need to relocate. We've lived in WA State and KY for several years going back and forth. WA is much more expensive than KY. Personally I am in Berea and can't recommend it highly enough. It's a small college town that doesn't change much yet the areas around it like Richmond, KY are growing fast. Berea is in central KY and right off the major interstate I-75. Property and homes are inexpensive and many are for sale or foreclosure. Anything around the Berea-Lancaster-Richmond-Mt. Vernon area is my pick. Maybe it will appeal to you, too. Some wonderful churches here, too, and Berea is called the arts and crafts capital of KY. Again, thank you for stopping here and I hope this helps. Ky welcomes you!

We just went to Kentucky, visited Murray on the west side. I liked it a lot, but very wet; but hey, better than snow. Do you have any recommendations for small towns in the mid to west part of the state? We are from Illinois and are one of the many seeking to relocate because of the taxes and politics, and abortion laws (as taxpayers, we have to pay for abortions). Looking for a smaller town with a charming old down town, friendly people. We are retired.
