Like you, I would never want to leave either. The James is truly magnificent and serene and Appalachia’s ranges are my favorite of all I’ve seen in the US and Europe. That’s saying something. Dear Debrah, What an incredible, restful retreat! You are right, I believe the builder of our cabin knew the importance of time away and how conducive that is to wellbeing and appreciating the peace of a porch, the woods, nature, etc. I am so glad we have no tv here. Not even a radio. That way I can hear the wind and the fire in the woodstove. And the birds. Iowa is such a beautiful place. We crossed it on a road trip a couple of years ago and I told my husband I wouldn’t mind living there. Thank you for stopping here and sharing wisdom and peace!
