What inspires a novel or character? Sometimes it’s simply an image like this one. When I first saw it I knew I was looking at the heroine in my twelfth historical novel, Tidewater Bride. She embodies Selah Hopewell, the enduring, emotionally torn daughter of James Towne’s cape merchant. Right down to her befreckled skin! I consider it a gift when something surfaces on the web that mirrors what I’ve written. She even has the right expression. A trifle wistful and concerned. It’s intriguing to imagine just what she’s looking at. I’ve yet to find the source for this image though I’ve tried. I’d love to know more.

So it’s a pleasure to introduce to you the essence of Selah here as we await the cover reveal!
